Music Has Me Excited

Would you look at that, it seems like we are ending the year the same way we ended the last one: with a blog from your one and only chemical, Radium!
Last year’s last blog (and the first in a monthly series) was not the happiest of blogs. I did write it after Flare went through a massive change and I needed to give you Majesties the notes and warn you about the changes..
This year, however, I’m happy to announce that the blog is a lot happier and more optimistic. On paper, I should probably focus the last blog post of the year on Nefelibata, our latest release that is available everywhere to be streamed but as usual I am impulsive as ever and I wear my heart on my sleeve. I’d rather do a small recap of 2023 for Flare, and share my optimism and excitement for 2024.
2023 was for Anje and I the year of the last attempt at making music our livelihood the way we’ve dreamed about for years. After coming to terms with what Flare used to be, saying bittersweet goodbyes to those who started the adventure with us, and sitting down to actively and seriously work effectively on the (now) duo, my mentality at the beginning of the year very much was “let’s try and see”.
As the year is coming to an end at the time that I’m writing this, I can confidently say that I feel much better about the duo after the year we’ve been through, and I am incredibly excited to see what 2024 has in store. We completely surpassed my expectations.
We managed to release four songs in one year, even when we ran behind the schedules we had given ourselves. Our first single, Girls Like No Other, did well on Youtube. I was expecting a handful of views, but we surprisingly got over a hundred views for both Karma and Black Swan. As for Nefelibata, it’s still early in the release, but Pillow is already at 250 views organically. We still have one last round of promo to do, but I remain optimistic that improving the quality of our music will have a positive influence on the number of streams and views we get.
As for our social media, it is so satisfying to scroll down our Instagram page. We stuck to the schedules we set for ourselves and as a result, we’ve been consistent. We have series like my What Would We Wear, we have monthly blogs and a theme for each release along with activity on our social media. Recently, we got into Threads and we’ve met amazing people and got amazing reviews on our music. Even outside of Threads, we (aka Anje) met people who are willing to help us for some projects we have in 2024.
Anje and I recently had a few meetings to end the year. We set our goals for the duo for 2024, and I’m so excited to start working on them already. Even in our personal lives, we’ve had a glimpse at a bright future that will be very helpful for the duo.
What’s coming next? Well, everyone needs some rest, so we are taking a break in January, and getting back to work in February. The year will, hopefully, be full of exciting projects and better music.
I wasn’t sure where I stood when we started the new year. Frankly, I was unsure but willing to give things one last try.
As 2023 is coming to an end and 2024 is starting, I can confidently say: music has me excited.
Happy New Year, Majesties!
