Two Voices: Our Main Musical Inspirations and Dreams

Today, the theme I’ve chosen for this month’s blog is our musical inspirations and dreams.

Radium and I are moving forward together, but our inspirations and many of our dreams as artists differ. By reading this blog, you’ll understand why.

Ray’s biggest inspirations are Rihanna and SZA. Rihanna inspires Ray as they both share Caribbean roots as artists. Rihanna is admired for her creativity, success, social engagement, and influence in various fields. As for SZA, she stands out for her authentic and emotional music, creativity, cultural impact, commitment to women’s empowerment, and her inspiring personal journey.

I remember asking Ray why she wanted to be a singer. She didn’t have an immediate answer at the time, and back then, I didn’t know her as well as I do now. But I know that some things are very important to her, such as sharing her culture and fighting against racism (and money, haha!). These are the kinds of things she wants to convey.

In my opinion, these are also very important things, but my dream extends beyond that. Throughout my life, I’ve had several inspirations, such as Fifth Harmony, who taught me self-confidence; BTS, who made me forget my loneliness and filled a big part of the emptiness in my heart; and Beyoncé, who has always managed to make me dream by never ceasing to shine on stage.

I’ve always known that singing was the most important thing in my life and that I wanted to shine that way. Nevertheless, I wanted to contribute in some way through my music to the creation of a better world. So, I constantly wondered how to achieve that. What kind of artist could do it? What message did I want to convey to the people who listen to me?

I want to be the one who gives hope, the one who comforts, the one who heals wounded souls. I want the people who listen to me to feel beautiful, smart, and enough just as they are. I want them to love themselves, love others, and be loved in return at their true value. I want to give strength to those who listen to my music to believe in their dreams and not give up despite the difficulties. I want them to know that they don’t always have to rush and that they can also rest. I want to give them the strength and courage to live. I want them to know that they are not alone and that even if they experience a cold and endless winter, spring will always come after.

Ray and I as a duo intend to unite our strengths to show that it’s possible to grow from nothing and to achieve our dreams and ambitions together. Speaking of dreams and ambitions, our next single is coming soon, and it’s the themes we’ve chosen to address. We sincerely hope that many people will relate to the lyrics and that our songs will motivate you to strive towards your cherished goals.

We also plan to fight as long as possible, even when it’s not easy. So, let’s do our best to move forward together toward what we aspire to.
