We Got Our Shit Together!

Hey, Radium here!
It's December 31st 2022 as I write these lines. I wonder how I should start this blog. Should I start by wishing you all a belated Happy Holidays? A Happy New Year? Should I just get into it?
I guess I'll start by simply doing both. Late Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2023! I hope your holidays were a moment that allowed you to rest, spend time with your loved ones and heal. If 2022 was a good year for you, I hope 2023 continues with that streak. If 2022 sucked ass, I hope 2023 learns from that and gives you the win or the wins you deserve.
Now, let's get into it!
New year, New Flare
It rhymes so it must be true!
2023 is going to be a year of novelty and improvement for Flare. I want to start by saying that yes, it's been literal months since we've done anything with our blog. The plan was to treat it as a diary, as a moment between you and us to get an idea of what goes on in our lives as aspiring singers and artists.
The idea is pretty much the same, expect we'll be doing it monthly and taking our time. I'm not sure when this blog will be out, in 2022 or in 2023. Either way, see it as the beginning of something new for the group.
I now have to be honest, and admit that it's not the only thing that's new for the group.
I'll be nice and spare you all the details of what happened behind the scenes of the group. Some of them are simply private, to be honest. Others are not worth dwelling on for 500 words.
We Got Our Shit Together
"Roll credits!" Cinemasins
If you've been following us for a while, you'll notice a lot of things.
For example, we've been a lot more active on social media. We post more, especially on Instagram where we've been active with our stories and even our pictures and photos. You'll notice our grid is quite creative, and it wasn't even the original plan!
We are shyly more active on Twitter also. Especially me; I tweet and try to include ourselves in conversations more. We follow more people too. The result has been quite gratifying.
Now, those of you who have been following us for a while, and have a keen eye for details, might have noticed very glaring things.
For example, on Instagram, Anje's Outside, where she shares the highlights of her outings. Or Rad's Playlist, where I share some of my favourite songs (don't be overwhelmed by how much SZA is there, I'm currently obsessed with SOS).
The website itself is a good indicator of the changes. We went from five to two members. Everywhere. Even went from "group" to "duo".
What Happened?
Well, again, I'll spare you the bulk of the details. But what I can say, is that we faced some hard truths, swallowed our pride and made peace with reality.
This journey started with five girls, and almost came to an end with five girls. But we held on, said our goodbyes and our farewells, and it's continuing with two girls.
As those changes occurred, we decided to take them as a sign to also work on ourselves and improve our work habits. Thus the changes on social media and the increase in activity. We will be posting more songs more regularly. You can already check out Anje's new cover here and stay tuned for mine. A hint: obsessed.
It's been tough, it's hurt sometimes, but in the end, we're seeing the results and we know we're headed in the right direction.
So Where Do We Go From There?
If you were with us at the beginning of this journey, we truly hope you'll stay. If you're new here, hi, we're Flare, and we want to light up the world. Don't be shy and come along with us!
I end this first blog (and the year) with sincere thanks. Thanks to everyone who followed us, who follow or will follow us. But also sincere thanks to those who started the journey with us, who made Flare a group, even if the time was shorter than anticipated. Our paths may part ways today, but I am certain they will, one day or another, meet again.
The road to making dreams come true is certainly full of hurdles and obstacles. But the strength to hold on and reach the destination always makes it worth it.
Thank you and Happy New Year!
